Job Purpose:

Responsible for HIL-based ADAS and Autonomous Driving (AD) validation and verification (V&V) activities and signoff. To plan, build, commission, and manage activities to support product testing. The role will work with the broader V&V team and external suppliers to deliver scalable HIL-based ADAS DVP and AD validation. The position will improve DVP efficiency and System robustness.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating the HIL system strategy and vehicle simulation environments (hardware and software) and models in alignment with functional requirements.
  • Integration of plant models into the HIL rig and ensuring the virtual tools and HIL rig coverage are capable of future model changes
  • Ensures the test platform is enabled for either manual or automated test cases in collaboration with the target customer
  • Maintenance of the test platform inclusive of updates to hardware, software, models, framework, measurement, instrumentation, and data extraction.
  • Analytical skillset to interpret the data generated and Triage to identify nonproduct test platform defects and subsequent root cause
  • Oversee commissioning and acceptance testing of the facility
  • Cross collaboration and technical forums with other architects & developers to drive shared best practices and continuous learning in conjunction with SW & HW suppliers

Qualification & Experience:

  • Good knowledge of ADAS & AD electronic systems
  • Proficient in real-time simulation environments in the use of the dSPACE tool chain especially the configuration desk and Control Desk
  • Proven experience in MATLAB, and Simulink Simulation toolset
  • Experience in modeling physical systems for HIL simulation in the following domains, but not limited to, engine simulation, chassis, road network, traffic, sensors, and actuators, with a focus on ADAS and Chassis sensors
  • Solid understanding of Systems Engineering and V&V processes and methods
  • Strong technical knowledge of modeling communication protocols used in the Automotive sector (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet) using either dSPACE or Vector software.
  • Proven technical expertise in delivering complex HIL test environments with more than 4 real ECUs in the loop.
  • Experience in virtual validation planning, budgeting, coordination, and tracking
  • Active safety, automated driving, or autonomous vehicle-related experience – in algorithm development, calibration, design/release, testing, or validation.
  • Experience in Automotive industry simulation software such as  VI-Grade CRT/IPG/ASM and DriveSim
  • Object-oriented programming – such as Python or C/C++, automation desk
  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure such as networking, databases, data management, software version control, network license servers
  • BEng in relevant discipline (Control/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Physics, etc.)
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink
  • Proficiency in real-time simulation software for ADAS and Chassis components simulation
